gesturePad is a gesture based remote control application for controlling device's with an http API. Run on iOS 5+, iPhone, iTouch and iPad.
Currently controls MediaBrowser 2 (mb3 in testing), eventghost and DirecTV natively. Also tested with insteon devices, and is totally extendable to any device with an http api
Using modified xml files users can add new devices/actions, and by creating and modifying custom gestures.

Download the WebAPI, for MediaBrowser2 here and save it to C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser\Plugins
Open Port 8092 in firewall

You will need to setup eventghost with the webserver plugin to allow remote control. Sample eventghost config can be found here
Whatever you can do with eventghost, you can fire from gesturePad. :-)
Buy an old MCE2005 IR bundle or usbIRT. Wire it up from your HTPC to your TV using an IR cable from the MCE remote bundle, you can also control your television from gesturePad.
Control your television from gesturePad. Volume, Power, Switching inputs.. anything your remote does you can setup gesturePad. :-)
If you have DirecTV in your home, then you can control that as well through gesturePad. Enter the IP address into the settings.app on your iOS device.
Channel guide, with now playing information, cross referenced with tvdb.com. All navigation commands, list and logo views.
